-
Bidaa Bint Saud
An archaeological site north of Al Ain, part of the city's UNESCO listing, with Hafit Period tombs and Iron Age irrigation channels. It also has the rare remains of an Iron Age building thought to have shared out water from two aflaj, and its finds are in the Al Ain National Museum.
-
Hili Archaeological Park
A Bronze Age site in Al Ain, part of the cultural sites of the city listed by UNESCO. Its best-known monument is the Hili Grand Tomb, a round stone tomb carved with figures of people and animals.
-
Jebel Faya
A limestone hill near Mleiha in the Sharjah interior, whose rock shelters hold traces of people from the Old Stone Age and the Neolithic. It is part of the Faya Palaeolandscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest records of humans in Arabia.
-
Qasr Al Muwaiji

-
Qattara Oasis
Date gardens in Al Ain watered by an old falaj, a channel system that carries water through the palms. Beneath them lies a Bronze Age site from around 1800 to 1500 BCE, and among its 19 old buildings are nine mosques.
-
Wadi Wurayah
A 12,700-hectare mountain wadi between Masafi, Khor Fakkan and Bidiyah, protected as a Ramsar wetland of international importance. It is named after warrah, a tall marsh plant that grows in its pools, and holds one of the few waterfalls in the UAE.
-
Al Bidya Mosque
The oldest mosque still in use in the UAE, thought to be some 500 years old, in a village on the Fujairah coast. It is a small, low building of stone and mud, its four domes resting on a single central pillar.
-
Al Jazirah Al Hamra
An old fishing and pearling village south of Ras Al Khaimah city, left empty by its people in the last century and now partly restored. Its coral-stone houses, mosque and lanes make it one of the most complete traditional towns left on the UAE coast, and it sits on UNESCO's tentative list.
-
Dubai Creek
The saltwater inlet the city grew up around, running about 14 kilometres inland and long its port for trade. Wooden abras still ferry people across between Deira and Bur Dubai, past dhows loading cargo along the wharves.
-
Ed Dur
An ancient coastal city spread over some 5 square kilometres above Al Beidha Lake, one of the largest archaeological sites in the Emirates. Closely tied to the inland trading town of Mleiha, it has been called one of the most significant lost cities of Arabia.
-
Abrahamic Family House
Three houses of worship side by side on Saadiyat Island: a mosque, a church and a synagogue, each in its own building. It was inspired by the Document on Human Fraternity, signed in Abu Dhabi in 2019 by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of al-Azhar.
